 Medico Philosophy

At Medico, we are your advocate and the patient is our focus.   Medico does not promote any specific products or services and has no financial interest in any healthcare system, product or service.

Medico values transparency in healthcare delivery by utilizing an electronic medical record with full patient access.  Patients have access to the same medical record the physician does and are able to review all physician documentation.

 What is Concierge Medicine?

The average primary care physician today sees an average of 20 to 40 patients each day, sometimes even more.   In addition each physician may oversee the primary care of  3000-5000 patients. Patients are followed by different doctors in the outpatient and inpatient setting which affects continuity of care. The current healthcare system emphasizes quantity over quality and doctors are judged on their productivity (how many patients they see in a given period of time) and how much revenue they generate for the health system in which they work.  Healthcare that is driven by numbers and profit cannot focus on providing the best healthcare for patients.  Medico, by focusing on the patient, provides high quality, personalized medical care.

At Medico we respect and value your time.   We know our patients intimately and provide personalized medical care that is tailored to a patient's needs. We fit your lifestyle and provide care when and where you need it, in the home or at work.   Your doctor is available by cell phone or email 24 hours a day seven days a week.  We provide customized patient education and research.  We are your guide as you navigate the healthcare system.  At Medico we follow our patients from the outpatient to the inpatient setting and therefore we do not employ hospitalists.  Medico is the only practice of its kind in the Pittsburgh region.
